I got up in time for breakfast which wasn't bacon by any means, but the coffee was good. I sat up on the patio with Emerson, the Brazilian from Ouru Preto, and David and Josh. Emerson showed me fun Brazilian rhythms on his tambourines. That was a good lesson for me. He sang songs and I sang songs. It was a good series of honest moments. We made even more left overs from the night before last and shared lunch with David. The three of us were switching hostels because the Rio Hostel had been booked full. David had a room, but no locker, and we had all become friends so we stuck together. I am glad he came with us up the hill to the hostel in Santa Teressa.
We walked back down the hill into Lapa. We ran into Ash and Elka. Ash came with us down the hill, and we bought more supplies for yet another night of caporinas. I had felt an overwhelming sensation of love seeing beauty in everything as we had walked to the hostel in Santa Teressa, but now I was washed out and a bit sad because of it. Ash split off to buy beers, so David, Josh and I got juices and coffee in a corner cafe. We didn't get to see Ash again, accept for crossing the street. Nor did we get to express how much we liked hanging out with him. Luckily I got his email earlier. We will probably see him sooner than later.
Back to the new hostel for a disco nap. We fixed up yet another cooler of caporinas and headed down the hill, the three of us. Instead of heading straight down the hill we walked into Santa Teressa and more. We pretty much finished the cooler faster than we thought we would, but Josh brought all the fixings with us so we stopped into the Rio Hostel to pick up Ash and make another batch. Ash was gone, but we got our drinks fixed up and headed out all the same. Down to Lapa where the street party was nothing compared to the night before. There were still plenty of people out, but it seemed dead in comparison. If I hadn't been there the night before, we might have thought, "Oh what a rockin' street party for a Saturday night!"
We walked around the same places and streets and plazas we had been to the night before. We were watching people watching people. Watching people people watch is good enough entertainment. Josh and I sat outside a club and watched and talked while David went into a club for a bit. We soon headed home. It was around 4 when we got home.
