I was planning on getting up when Karin got up so I could go to school with her. I wanted to take a guitar and an upright bass into one of the practice rooms at her school. I woke up at sun rise with a fucking awful cramp where my neck meets my right shoulder. My shoulder started feeling a bit cramped the morning before, but it wasn't unbearable. This pain was to the point of needing to systematically roll over so I could push myself up with my arms thus avoiding any stress on my neck. I did some stretching that nearly made me scream at one point. Not a good scream. I went back to sleep and couldn't get up to go with Karin. I took some sort of medicine to fix me.
Josh and I laid around all day without going outside. I geeked around on the internet and packed, while Josh did the same. Karin came home and seemed disgusted that we hadn't left all day, but I didn't want to do a damn thing with my neck all bent out of shape. And we had been truckin all over S.P. for the last two days anyways.
We were leaving on a midnight bus to Rio, and we needed our down time. Karin ordered some pizzas and Josh and I walked down the street to get a couple bottles of wine. Leslie came over for dinner. We used Leslie's credit card to buy two plane tickets from Salvador to S.P. We decided that we would spend the next couple of weeks cruising the coast to Salvador before we had to book back for Leslie's wedding on the 19th. The plane tickets were cheap, and well worth it since we wouldn't have to take a 24 hour + bus ride to get back in time.
The Gunn sisters gave the two of us a ride to the local Metro stop around 9. We got to the bus station around 11. Hung out on some backgammon, and hit the road just after midnight. Neither of us slept much. Josh didn't sleep at all. I might have gotten 30 minutes.
